Post RISC OS Open on Beagle Board
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone here own a Beagle Board?
If so can you confirm which hardware additions currently work with RISC OS Open?

My Beagle Board is on order, but it has a lead time of about 3 weeks!

Thanks,
Rob.

Hi Rob,
Wish I could say something useful, sadly I can't. I would be most interested to hear how you get on...
...would it be worth posting a question on comp.sys.acorn.hardware?

All the best,

Looks like Digi-Key over estimated their delivery time.
As my Beagle Board arrived on the 13th! It would have been the 12th, but I missed the courier! :(

If anyone is interested, I'll put together a WIKI page on the RISC OS Open website, detailing which hardware currently works. And links where you can buy it from.

A word of caution for anyone looking to buy a Beagle Board, they are delivered by UPS, and you have to pay the tax and import duty to the delivery driver. They don't take cards or cheques, so you have to pay cash. If you don't have the cash to hand, they will tell you to contact the depot and arrange another delivery date!!

Luckilly I managed to find the £21 in change! :D

So far the Beagle Board seems nippy, though as yet I've not transferred any software to it, so I can only play with what is stored in ROM. (Paint, Edit, etc...)

I'll post back here a little later, once I've had a good chance to play!

Thanks for the info Rob,
I'd certainly be interested in a wiki page on setting one of these up for RiscOS - my days of installing OS's in this manner are long-gone, should I take the plunge some hand-holding would be of great help.
